Gluconeogenesis — A metabolic pathway which results in synthesise of glucose from non carbohydrate precursors such as lactate , pyruvate and products derived from glucogenic amino acids
Glycogenesis — The process of synthesise of glycogen from glucose.
Glycogenin — It is primer protein of glucogenesis which acts as an enzyme (glucosyltransferase) as well as a primer for assembling glycogen chains
Glycogenolysis — Breakdown of glycogen to glucose — 1 phosphate by glycogen phosphate.
Glycolysis- A sequence of ten reactions which converts glucose and related hexose into two molecule of pyruvate with net production of two ATP molecule.
Keto acid — when the transfer of amino group takes place from donar amino acid it becomes keto acid.
Ketogenesis- Synthesise of ketone bodies
Ketone bodies — A collective name for acetoacetate, beta hydroxyl butyrate and acetone.
Ketonuria — Condition in which there is markedly increased level of ketone bodies in urine.
Ketonemia — Condition in which there is markedly increased level of ketone body in blood.
