Accord­ing to the released sched­ule, the CTET Sep­tem­ber 2026 exam­i­na­tion will be con­duct­ed on 12 and 13 Decem­ber 2026. Can­di­dates should care­ful­ly check the offi­cial infor­ma­tion brochure for details relat­ed to Paper 1, Paper 2, eli­gi­bil­i­ty cri­te­ria, exam­i­na­tion fees, syl­labus, exam pat­tern, admit card, answer key, and result.

CTET September 2026 Important Dates

CTET September 2026 Application Fee

For One Paper

• Gen­er­al, OBC and EWS can­di­dates: ₹1,000
• SC, ST and PwD can­di­dates: ₹500

For Both Papers

• Gen­er­al, OBC and EWS can­di­dates: ₹1,200
• SC, ST and PwD can­di­dates: ₹600

Can­di­dates can pay the exam­i­na­tion fee through deb­it card, cred­it card, net bank­ing, or e‑challan.

CTET September 2026 Eligibility

CTET is con­duct­ed for can­di­dates who wish to become eli­gi­ble for teach­ing posi­tions at the pri­ma­ry and ele­men­tary lev­els. The exam­i­na­tion is divid­ed into two papers:

• Paper 1: For teach­ing Class­es 1 to 5
• Paper 2: For teach­ing Class­es 6 to 8

Can­di­dates must meet the pre­scribed edu­ca­tion­al qual­i­fi­ca­tions for the paper they wish to appear in.

CTET Paper 1 Eligibility – Primary Level

Can­di­dates apply­ing for Paper 1 should have any one of the fol­low­ing qualifications:

1. Senior Sec­ondary or equiv­a­lent with at least 50% marks and passed or appear­ing in a two-year Diplo­ma in Ele­men­tary Education.
2. Senior Sec­ondary or equiv­a­lent with at least 45% marks and passed or appear­ing in a two-year Diplo­ma in Ele­men­tary Edu­ca­tion as per applic­a­ble NCTE regulations.
3. Senior Sec­ondary or equiv­a­lent with at least 50% marks and passed or appear­ing in a four-year Bach­e­lor of Ele­men­tary Education.
4. Senior Sec­ondary or equiv­a­lent with at least 50% marks and passed or appear­ing in a two-year Diplo­ma in Edu­ca­tion, includ­ing Spe­cial Edu­ca­tion where applicable.
5. Any oth­er qual­i­fi­ca­tion accept­ed under the offi­cial CTET infor­ma­tion brochure.

Can­di­dates should read the offi­cial noti­fi­ca­tion care­ful­ly before select­ing their eli­gi­bil­i­ty category.

CTET Paper 2 Eligibility – Junior Level

Can­di­dates apply­ing for Paper 2 may qual­i­fy through any of the fol­low­ing routes:

1. Grad­u­a­tion with a two-year Diplo­ma in Ele­men­tary Edu­ca­tion, passed or appearing.
2. Grad­u­a­tion or Post-Grad­u­a­tion with at least 50% marks and passed or appear­ing in B.Ed.
3. Grad­u­a­tion with at least 45% marks and passed or appear­ing in B.Ed. accord­ing to applic­a­ble NCTE regulations.
4. Senior Sec­ondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appear­ing in a four-year B.El.Ed. course.
5. Senior Sec­ondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appear­ing in a four-year B.A.Ed., B.Sc.Ed., or equiv­a­lent course.
6. Grad­u­a­tion with at least 50% marks and passed or appear­ing in B.Ed. Spe­cial Education.
7. Can­di­dates who have com­plet­ed or are pur­su­ing a rec­og­nized teacher edu­ca­tion course may also be eli­gi­ble accord­ing to the applic­a­ble CTET and NCTE guidelines.
8. Post-Grad­u­a­tion with at least 55% marks or equiv­a­lent grade and passed or appear­ing in a three-year inte­grat­ed B.Ed.-M.Ed. course.

The final eli­gi­bil­i­ty will be deter­mined accord­ing to the offi­cial CTET Sep­tem­ber 2026 notification.

CTET September 2026 Exam Pattern

The CTET exam­i­na­tion con­sists of objec­tive-type mul­ti­ple-choice questions.

Paper 1

Paper 1 is designed for can­di­dates who want to teach Class­es 1 to 5. The paper gen­er­al­ly includes:

• Child Devel­op­ment and Pedagogy
• Lan­guage I
• Lan­guage II
• Math­e­mat­ics
• Envi­ron­men­tal Studies

Paper 2

Paper 2 is designed for can­di­dates who want to teach Class­es 6 to 8. The paper gen­er­al­ly includes:

• Child Devel­op­ment and Pedagogy
• Lan­guage I
• Lan­guage II
• Math­e­mat­ics and Sci­ence, or
• Social Studies/Social Science
