The Uttar Pradesh Edu­ca­tion Ser­vice Selec­tion Com­mis­sion (UPESSC) has released the syl­labus and exam­i­na­tion pat­tern for the UP Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor Recruit­ment 2026, Adver­tise­ment Num­ber 04/2026. The recruit­ment dri­ve is being con­duct­ed for 1,936 Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor posts in gov­ern­ment and gov­ern­ment-aid­ed degree col­leges across Uttar Pradesh.

UPESSC Assistant Professor Selection Process

The selec­tion process is expect­ed to include the fol­low­ing stages:

1. Written Examination

Can­di­dates must appear in the objec­tive-type writ­ten exam­i­na­tion car­ry­ing 360 marks.

2. Interview / Personality Test

Can­di­dates who qual­i­fy the writ­ten exam­i­na­tion accord­ing to the applic­a­ble cri­te­ria may be called for an inter­view or per­son­al­i­ty test. The inter­view car­ries 40 marks.

3. Document Verification

Short­list­ed can­di­dates will be required to ver­i­fy their edu­ca­tion­al qual­i­fi­ca­tions, cat­e­go­ry cer­tifi­cates, iden­ti­ty doc­u­ments, and oth­er required records.

Previous Exam Pattern

Can­di­dates using old­er UPHESC or UP Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor prepa­ra­tion mate­r­i­al should be care­ful because the ear­li­er exam­i­na­tion pat­tern was different.

The ear­li­er pat­tern car­ried 2 marks for each cor­rect answer and did not include neg­a­tive mark­ing. The revised pat­tern report­ed for the 2026 recruit­ment includes 120 ques­tions, 360 marks, and neg­a­tive mark­ing. Can­di­dates should fol­low the pat­tern applic­a­ble to Adver­tise­ment Num­ber 04/2026 rather than rely­ing only on old study material.
