The final result has been published on 25 August 2026 after completion of the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) and the subsequent Sliding/Identity Verification process.

According to the official SSC final-result notice, a total of 1,715 candidates have been provisionally recommended for the next stage of appointment formalities. This includes 232 candidates for Stenographer Grade C and 1,483 candidates for Stenographer Grade D.

Why the Final Result Shows 1,715 Candidates
The final selection figure changed during the recruitment process because SSC conducted the Sliding/Identity Verification (IV) process after the First Round of Tentative Allocation.
The Commission reported:
- FIX: 1,055 candidates
- FLOAT: 549 candidates
- New Allocation against absent candidates: 111 candidates
- Total: 1,715 candidates
Candidates who did not attend the mandatory Sliding/Identity Verification process were treated as absent and were not considered for the final result.
SSC Stenographer Skill Test
Candidates who progressed to the skill-test stage were required to demonstrate the prescribed stenography skills.
The SSC had prescribed the following permissible error limits for the skill test:
- Grade C: Up to 5% mistakes for UR candidates and up to 7% for reserved-category candidates.
- Grade D: Up to 7% mistakes for UR candidates and up to 10% for reserved-category candidates.
SSC Stenographer Eligibility
For the SSC Stenographer Grade C & D examination, candidates were required to have passed 12th Standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or university by the prescribed date.

- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Grade D Maximum Age: 27 years
