SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Final Result 2026 – 1,715 Candidates Recommended

The Staff Selec­tion Com­mis­sion (SSC) has declared the final result of the Stenog­ra­ph­er Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ Exam­i­na­tion, 2025. The final result has been pub­lished on 25 August 2026 after com­ple­tion of the First Round of Ten­ta­tive Allo­ca­tion (FRTA) and the sub­se­quent Sliding/Identity Ver­i­fi­ca­tion process.

Accord­ing to the offi­cial SSC final-result notice, a total of 1,715 can­di­dates have been pro­vi­sion­al­ly rec­om­mend­ed for the next stage of appoint­ment for­mal­i­ties. This includes 232 can­di­dates for Stenog­ra­ph­er Grade C and 1,483 can­di­dates for Stenog­ra­ph­er Grade D.

SSC Stenographer 2025 – Overview

The SSC final-result doc­u­ment states that allo­ca­tion was made on the basis of mer­it, can­di­dates’ post/department pref­er­ences and the FIX/FLOAT options exer­cised dur­ing the Sliding/Identity Ver­i­fi­ca­tion process.

The final-result process fol­lowed the FRTA declared on 31 July 2026 and the manda­to­ry Sliding/Identity Ver­i­fi­ca­tion process con­duct­ed on 11 and 12 August 2026.

SSC Stenographer Final Result 2026 – Vacancy & Recommendation Details

Grade C

The offi­cial final-result notice reports:

The Grade C rec­om­men­da­tion also includes can­di­dates select­ed against applic­a­ble hor­i­zon­tal vacancies.

Grade D

Addi­tion­al hor­i­zon­tal-cat­e­go­ry infor­ma­tion for ESM, OH, HH, VH and oth­er PwBD cat­e­gories is pro­vid­ed in the offi­cial SSC result write-up.

Why the Final Result Shows 1,715 Candidates

The final selec­tion fig­ure changed dur­ing the recruit­ment process because SSC con­duct­ed the Sliding/Identity Ver­i­fi­ca­tion (IV) process after the First Round of Ten­ta­tive Allocation.

The Com­mis­sion reported:

• FIX: 1,055 candidates
• FLOAT: 549 candidates
• New Allo­ca­tion against absent can­di­dates: 111 candidates
• Total: 1,715 candidates

Can­di­dates who did not attend the manda­to­ry Sliding/Identity Ver­i­fi­ca­tion process were treat­ed as absent and were not con­sid­ered for the final result.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test

Can­di­dates who pro­gressed to the skill-test stage were required to demon­strate the pre­scribed stenog­ra­phy skills.

The SSC had pre­scribed the fol­low­ing per­mis­si­ble error lim­its for the skill test:

• Grade C: Up to 5% mis­takes for UR can­di­dates and up to 7% for reserved-cat­e­go­ry candidates.
• Grade D: Up to 7% mis­takes for UR can­di­dates and up to 10% for reserved-cat­e­go­ry candidates.

SSC Stenographer Eligibility

For the SSC Stenog­ra­ph­er Grade C & D exam­i­na­tion, can­di­dates were required to have passed 12th Stan­dard or an equiv­a­lent exam­i­na­tion from a rec­og­nized board or uni­ver­si­ty by the pre­scribed date.

SSC Stenographer Age Limit

As pre­scribed for the 2025 examination:

• Min­i­mum Age: 18 years
• Grade D Max­i­mum Age: 27 years

• Applic­a­ble age relax­ation is avail­able to eli­gi­ble reserved cat­e­gories accord­ing to gov­ern­ment rules.
