The School of Open Learning (SOL), University of Delhi, has released the 4th Year Student Registration Portal for the Batch 2022–2026.
Under this new system, students must choose whether they want to continue into the fourth year (Honours/Research) or exit the programme after completing the third year.
This process has been introduced as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) 2022.
About DU SOL 4th Year Registration Portal
The 4th Year Registration Portal has been created for students enrolled in:
- B.A. Programme
- B.Com Programme
- Honours Courses
According to NEP 2020, undergraduate courses can now be structured as:
- Three-year Bachelor’s Degree, or
- Four-year Honours/Research Degree
Hence, all students in the 2022–2026 batch must submit their formal consent online to either continue or exit the course after the third year.
Option 1: Continue into the Fourth Year
Students who wish to continue into the fourth year will be eligible for an Honours Degree after successful completion.
For B.A. (Programme) and B.Com (Programme) Students:
- You will be awarded an Honours Degree after the completion of the fourth year.
- The fourth-year programme includes a specialisation or advanced project work for academic enhancement.
For Honours Course Students:
- You can proceed into the fourth year and earn an Honours with Research degree.
- Students can specialise in one of the following areas:
- Academic Project
- Dissertation (Research)
- Entrepreneurship
- The specialisation will be integrated with your chosen Major and/or Minor subjects.
Continuing into the fourth year also benefits students who plan to pursue postgraduate studies, research opportunities, or government/competitive exams that recognise a four-year degree qualification.
Option 2: Exit After the Third Year
Students who do not wish to continue into the fourth year may exit the programme after completing the third year.
In this case, they will be awarded a Bachelor’s Degree as per the UGCF 2022 guidelines.
This option is suitable for students who wish to start their career early, apply for professional certifications, or pursue postgraduate studies that accept three-year degrees.
Mandatory Consent Requirement
It is mandatory for every student to submit their consent online through the registration portal.
Without submitting the consent form, students may face issues in academic continuation or degree issuance.
You must submit your consent if you:
- Wish to continue into the Fourth Year (Honours with Research/Honours), or
- Wish to exit the programme after the Third Year
How to Submit DU SOL 4th Year Consent Form
Follow the steps below to submit your consent on the official portal:
- Visit the official DU SOL 4th Year Registration Portal:
https://consent.oldclc.ac.in/student/login - Enter your Email ID / Mobile Number / SOL Roll Number.
- Enter your Password (Barcode).
- If you do not know your barcode, click on “Know Your Barcode” on the same page.
- Solve the simple math question displayed on the login screen.
- Click on the Login button.
- Choose your preference — Continue to Fourth Year or Exit After Third Year.
- Submit your consent form.
