SBI Clerk Vacancy 2026

SBI has announced 9,124 vacan­cies for Junior Asso­ciates (Cus­tomer Sup­port & Sales).

The vacan­cies comprise:

  • 7,680 Reg­u­lar Vacancies
  • 1,444 Back­log Vacancies
  • Vacan­cies are dis­trib­uted across dif­fer­ent States and Union Territories.
  • Can­di­dates can apply for vacan­cies in one State/UT only.
  • Can­di­dates must have pro­fi­cien­cy in the spec­i­fied local lan­guage of the State/UT for which they apply.

The largest reg­u­lar vacan­cy counts include Maharashtra/Mumbai Metro, Tamil Nadu and Odisha, although can­di­dates should check the offi­cial state-wise vacan­cy table before select­ing their State/UT.

SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Can­di­dates must have a grad­u­a­tion degree in any dis­ci­pline from a rec­og­nized uni­ver­si­ty or an equiv­a­lent qual­i­fi­ca­tion rec­og­nized by the Cen­tral Government.

Can­di­dates appear­ing in the final year/semester of grad­u­a­tion may also apply pro­vi­sion­al­ly, sub­ject to ful­fill­ing the pre­scribed qual­i­fi­ca­tion require­ments by the date spec­i­fied in the notification.

Age Limit

The pre­scribed age lim­it is gen­er­al­ly 20 to 28 years as on 1 April 2026, with applic­a­ble relax­ation for reserved and oth­er eli­gi­ble cat­e­gories as per SBI rules.

Local Language Requirement

Can­di­dates apply­ing for a par­tic­u­lar State/UT must be able to read, write, speak and under­stand the spec­i­fied local lan­guage of that State/UT.

The Local Lan­guage Pro­fi­cien­cy Test is con­duct­ed after the Main Exam­i­na­tion and before join­ing the Bank.

SBI Clerk Selection Process 2026

The selec­tion process con­sists of:

  2. Main Exam­i­na­tion
  3. Local Lan­guage Pro­fi­cien­cy Test (LPT)

Can­di­dates who qual­i­fy the Pre­lim­i­nary Exam­i­na­tion are short­list­ed for the Main Exam­i­na­tion. Can­di­dates who qual­i­fy the Main Exam­i­na­tion are required to sat­is­fy the local lan­guage require­ment where applicable.

The SBI Junior Asso­ciate post offers a com­pet­i­tive salary along with var­i­ous allowances and ben­e­fits applic­a­ble under SBI rules.
